Preface
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, this frontier land of China's reform and opening up, is not only a geographical coordinate but also a cultural vessel. Here, Eastern and Western civilizations intersect, tradition and modernity collide, and innovation and inclusiveness coexist. It is precisely this unique soil that has nurtured the exhibition theme 'Bay Area Vision'—which goes beyond merely indicating a region and aims to highlight a cultural stance: rooted locally, with a nationwide perspective, and in dialogue with the world.
As one of the key academic activities of the 22nd China International Cultural Industries Fair at the Dafen Oil Painting Village sub-venue, this exhibition specially invites several influential and academically representative oil painting masters to participate, focusing on showcasing their in-depth exploration of oil painting language and contemporary reflections. The participating artists include long-established local masters from the Bay Area as well as well-known domestic artists, aiming to present a rich and multidimensional picture of contemporary Chinese oil painting creation. From the cultivation and rise of local forces, to the juxtaposition and collision of diverse styles, and to the experimentation and breakthroughs of cross-disciplinary integration, the exhibition strives to outline a rich and multidimensional landscape of contemporary Chinese oil painting.
From Dafen to the Bay Area, from the Bay Area to the whole country, the openness of geography is most intuitively expressed here. This exhibition also aims to inspire the creative enthusiasm of artists in Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area, contributing to the prosperity and development of cultural undertakings and cultural industries. We believe that the power of art lies in connection—connecting region to region, connecting tradition to the contemporary, connecting creators to viewers. We hope that as you pause here, you can not only feel the charm of oil painting, but also witness a cultural scene rooted in the Bay Area and looking to the world, gradually unfolding.
