Exhibition Preface
In order to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and Xi Jinping's cultural thought, and to strengthen the awareness of the Chinese national community, the 'Colorful Warm City – Ordos Small-Scale Art Works Touring Exhibition,' hosted by the Ordos Federation of Literary and Art Circles and organized by the Ordos Artists Association, Ordos Art Museum, and Dafen Art Museum, has warmly opened.
The 40 works displayed this time, including Chinese paintings, oil paintings, prints, and watercolor chalk paintings, embody the artistic exploration and spiritual reflection of Ordos artists in recent years. With delicate brushwork, gentle colors, and unique compositions, they depict the breath and pulse of "Warm City" Ordos—from the morning mist on the banks of the Yellow River to the smoke rising in the depths of the grasslands, from the echoes of ancient culture to the footsteps of green development. Every piece is infused with the warmth of the integration of nature and humanity. These works are not only a heartfelt gaze at the natural beauty, cultural harmony, and developmental progress of Ordos.
When the artistic warmth from the northern Xinjiang plateau reaches this city facing the South China Sea, with innovation and speed as its pulse, it is like a gentle dialogue across mountains and rivers. Shenzhen, as the forefront of reform and opening-up, has woven a poetic chapter of urban development toward modernity with the passage of time, encompassing both the drive for pioneering progress and the warmth of embracing all rivers. This resonates deeply with the imagery of Ordos as a 'warm city,' embodying vastness, resilience, and deep affection—both are, in their own ways, writing stories of growth, transformation, and integration amid the tides of the times.
This touring exhibition is a cultural journey carried by art, like forty visual letters, bringing the wind of the grasslands, the light of the deserts, the mist by the rivers, and the city lights, setting off from the plateau and arriving at the shores of the South China Sea. Through moments of gaze and instant emotions, it invites viewers to enter a distant yet familiar 'warm city.' From here, the warmth of art will continue to be transmitted...
May this journey of artistic exchange allow warm stories to travel farther and let the power of beauty permeate more hearts.
