Gravitational Field: The 5th Shenzhen Biennale of Contemporary Art

A collection of geopolitical poems

November 18, 2023 - December 14, 2023

Exhibition hall 2/3/4 on the second floor of Dafen Art Museum, Longgang District, Shenzhen

"Gravitational Field: The 5th Shenzhen Biennale of Contemporary Art - Geopolitical Poetry" takes the abstract interpretation of the concept of "geo" as the "axis" to analyze the relationship between us and the landscape in which we live, and at the same time uses "poetic wisdom" as the "energy" that lingers in the process. Where we are and what we can do here ?

The 5th Shenzhen Contemporary Art Biennale invited about 50 Chinese artists and art organizations to present more than 90 works, including installations, videos, paintings and other forms.

The works on display by: Media and metaphor, Ductility, right Natural and social landscapes. In the process of "positioning" and "recognition", between the collaboration or interaction between the practitioner and the surface and its form, human beings as the subject are released in the process of behavior. In the transformation of the object's "object" and "image", the emotion or imagination that inhabits the visual form gradually emerges.

atAt the "Poetic" level, as the embodiment of human freedom and independent personality, the practitioner infuses the humanistic will and vitality on different objects—in this way, the poetic spirit can be perceived...... "Poetry" can also be used as an aesthetic feature and guide us to think about how the aesthetic practice of contemporary art writes and reshapes the object.

In the macroscopic narrative of geography and imagination, reality and poetry, the "gravitational field" is a spiritual field that reflects the dynamic relationship between different individuals and landscapes, and the relationship between people and objects is also sorted out...... More importantly, the "scene" in the field is the "result" of the interaction or reconciliation of various relationships, as the "insider" in it. We should observe and reflect on the process of landscape generation and shaping through our daily life and personal spatial experience. Finally, the appearance of the local landscape is consciously created.
