As the pioneer of the Shenzhen Cultural Fair and the holder of the record of the branch venue, Dafen Oil Painting Village has entered a period of rapid development relying on the influence of the Expo. With the theme of "Chasing Waves to the Future", Dafen Art Museum planned a boutique exhibition at the Dafen branch of the 20th Shenzhen Cultural Expo. "Towards the Future" shows the concept of new things and new development in the Shenzhen art world. Contemporary art creation pays more attention to the humanistic care of history and reality, and many works clearly demonstrate the realistic sensitivity and social responsibility of Shenzhen art workers. Through the exhibition, we see the artist's breakthrough in formal language. Starting from individual consciousness, they express the spirit and state of the new era, and strive to get rid of patterns, templates, and routines. The works that purify, deepen, and expand the language art show the artist's pursuit of language ontology, intrinsicness, and self-sufficiency.

Some of the local artists participating in this exhibition have not only witnessed the development of the fair in the past 20 years, but also are important participants in it. Their masterpieces have become the coordinates of the construction of local culture in the Greater Bay Area, and we can read the development of the city, the inheritance of the cultural context and the humanistic spirit from their works. There are also some participating artists who reflect the influence of the platform of the Cultural Fair in the country and even the world, and they have established contact with Shenzhen through the Cultural Fair, becoming an important banner of cultural and artistic exchanges, and their art has enriched the face of Shenzhen's fine arts. It is worth mentioning that in this exhibition, in addition to easel paintings, we also present the state of the art industry through installations. These installations, made of frames, paints, brushes and other tools, carry the message and temperature from every art practitioner, and are full of both authenticity and poetry.

Through this exhibition, we can see the vitality of cultural resources for the development of urban culture, art and industrial upgrading. We believe that relying on the empowerment of the Cultural Expo, Dafen Art will start anew, face the future, gather vitality, be determined to innovate, adhere to the people-centered creative orientation, and draw the spiritual map of the new era with literary and artistic masterpieces.
