Abbott Fuller Graves
Abbott Fuller Graves (1859–1936) was an American painter and illustrator who specialized in decorative open-air garden paintings and floral still-lifes. His signature use of thick brushstrokes (impasto), vibrant colors, and natural light reveals a strong influence of European Impressionism. Born in Weymouth, Massachusetts, he refined his skills in Paris and Italy before establishing his own art school in Boston. Later living in Kennebunkport, Maine, Graves became celebrated for his exquisite portrayals of lush gardens, floral landscapes, and New England coastal scenes. Today, his masterful depictions of natural beauty are highly sought after by collectors and displayed in prominent art museums across the United States.
